The base is a round zamak metal blank in nickel. The full-colour design sits inside, topped with a dome of clear crystal-effect resin that adds shine and depth and helps protect the design from rubbing. Because the colours are printed rather than enamelled, fine details such as those of the coat of arms show clearly.
